Last song you downloaded: Songs from Le Tigre's Remix album
Best vacation: My trip to Australia and New Zealand in 2004 was pretty damn solid
Last book you read: French language phrase book
Favorite comfort food: Ice cream, grilled cheese sandwiches on sourdough, chicken and rice soup
Champagne or beer (or other): Usually beer or something clear
Last splurge: Olympus water camera
Advice for beginners: Lessons are good! Someone experienced is going to help you get better by leaps and bounds. Also, be observant and stay positive. You are always learning something out there even if you don't catch a wave.
Worst experience in the water: Slamming into a rock at Rincon. I broke two bones in my ankle and my tibia pretty badly. I've got a rod down my leg, 9 screws and metal plate. It changed the way I surf and how I live my life now.
I'm most proud of: Who I am and the things I have accomplished. And I'm stoked that through surfing I can give back.
Favorite rainy day activity: Drinking coffee, writing, painting, laundry, snuggling
Pet peeve: Drama with friends
Who I'd cast to play me in the movie of my life: A total unknown or Claire Danes
Nail polish color: Champagne
Bathing suit or commando: Suit on top, commando bottom
Why I surf: I love its constant teachings and challenges. I love the adventure, the spiritual connection with nature, and the people it attracts. It's also damn good exercise and makes me feel healthy.
Words to live by: Love and respect
