She's kept it up, too—twice getting ranked the number two female surfer. But we're equally impressed with her easy-going personality and generosity; the
Serena Brooke Charity Day has raised more than $50,000 for organizations such as the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center, CSP Youth Centers, Breast Cancer Research, and Surfrider Foundation. Back on the pro circuit after she was sidelined by injuries, Serena is climbing up through the ranks of the World Championship Tour (WCT) and finished second at last year's Bells and Europe. Look for her to kick butt and take names in 2006.

Why I surf: It's my job but I do it for the satisfaction and freedom it brings me. It's what I live for.
